The Food Safety Law of the People's Republic of China classifies food packaging materials and containers as food related products and provides clear regulations on relevant production and operation activities.
The Market Supervision Bureau of Longkou City reminds all catering service units and online catering service providers that when providing takeaway and packaging services to consumers, the packaging materials, containers, etc. used must strictly implement the system of purchase inspection and certification. They must purchase products produced by legitimate enterprises, request supplier qualifications, inspect and retain the business license, production license, qualification certificate and other documents of food related product production enterprises. The shelf life is 6 months after the expiration of the product's shelf life. If there is no clear shelf life, the shelf life shall not be less than 2 years.
The Market Supervision Bureau of Longkou City will increase supervision efforts. If catering service units and network catering service providers purchase or use packaging materials and containers that do not meet food safety standards, they will be strictly dealt with in accordance with the relevant provisions of Article 125 of the Food Safety Law of the People's Republic of China.
Article 125 of the Food Safety Law of the People's Republic of China: If any of the following circumstances occur in violation of the provisions of this Law, the food safety supervision and management department of the people's government at or above the county level shall confiscate the illegal gains and food and food additives illegally produced and operated, and may also confiscate tools, equipment, raw materials and other items used for illegal production and operation; If the value of illegally produced and operated food or food additives is less than 10000 yuan, a fine of not less than 5000 yuan but not more than 50000 yuan shall be imposed; For goods with a value of over 10000 yuan, a fine of not less than five times but not more than ten times the value of the goods shall be imposed; For those with serious circumstances, they shall be ordered to suspend production and business until their license is revoked:
